Product Overview

Geofabriform, also known as a fabric-formed concrete mattress, is a high-strength double-layer woven geotextile system. Internal spacer cords precisely control the finished concrete thickness. Cement mortar or fine-aggregate concrete is pumped into the fabric mattress on site; the permeable textile drains excess water while retaining cement and aggregate solids, helping produce dense, high-strength concrete.

After curing, the system forms a continuous, monolithic and terrain-conforming concrete revetment for rivers, channels, reservoirs, coastlines and other hydraulic works.

Working Principle

The Geofabriform mattress acts as permanent flexible formwork. It is laid and anchored on the prepared slope, riverbed or underwater foundation, then filled from the bottom upward. No traditional formwork is required, and installation can proceed underwater or in tidal zones without cofferdams or dewatering.

Key Advantages

  • Underwater construction: suitable for submerged slopes, flowing water and tidal areas without dewatering.
  • Strong scour resistance: the continuous concrete surface resists waves, high-velocity flow, sediment abrasion and undercutting.
  • Flexible terrain adaptation: conforms to curved banks, steep slopes and irregular foundations with minimal voids.
  • Dense cured concrete: controlled drainage reduces excess mixing water and improves strength, abrasion resistance and freeze-thaw performance.
  • Fast mechanized installation: pumped filling supports efficient large-area construction with reduced formwork and labor.
  • Long service life: UV-stabilized PET or PP fabric protects the concrete surface in demanding hydraulic environments.

Installation Guidance

  1. Prepare the foundation and remove sharp objects, loose debris and major voids.
  2. Lay and anchor the mattress securely, including reinforced anchoring where wave uplift or strong current is expected.
  3. Pump cement mortar or fine-aggregate concrete from the lowest point upward for uniform filling.
  4. Select thickness according to hydraulic loading, wave exposure, slope geometry and project design requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Geofabriform?

Geofabriform is a double-layer high-strength woven geotextile concrete mattress with internal spacer cords. It serves as permanent flexible formwork and forms a dense, monolithic concrete revetment after filling and curing.

Can Geofabriform be installed underwater?

Yes. It can be laid and anchored on submerged slopes, riverbeds and tidal zones without a cofferdam, dewatering or a dry working platform.

What finished thicknesses are available?

Finished concrete thickness is available from 5 cm to 30 cm and is controlled by the internal spacer cords. The selection depends on flow velocity, wave impact and project design.

What filling material is suitable?

Cement mortar or well-graded fine-aggregate concrete is normally used. The mixture must be pumpable and capable of filling the mattress uniformly.

Will the fabric leak cement slurry?

The engineered woven filter drains excess free water while retaining cement and fine aggregate. Minor water seepage during filling is normal and helps reduce the water-cement ratio.

What are the main applications?

Typical uses include river and channel slopes, reservoirs and lakes, coastal seawalls, tidal flats, bridge-pier scour protection, spillways and hydraulic rehabilitation.

What service life can be expected?

UV-stabilized high-strength PET or PP fabric provides acid, alkali and aging resistance, while the textile protects the cured concrete from hydraulic wear. Final service life depends on material grade, exposure and project design.

What roll widths are available?

Standard roll widths are 2–6 m, with custom dimensions available to reduce field joints and suit the project layout.

Does installation require complex equipment?

Conventional concrete pumping equipment and standard laying and anchoring tools are normally sufficient.
