HDPE silo gravel bags, also called silage weighting bags, are woven from 100% virgin HDPE with UV stabilizer for outdoor use. Filled with gravel or sand, they secure silage covers and help block oxygen infiltration.
The flexible elongated bag follows seams and curved bunker sidewalls more closely than waste tires. Integrated handles make the bags easier to move, arrange and store.

Lay the silage film first, cover it with the protective silo net, and place filled gravel bags along the perimeter, seams, transition points, and feed-out edge. The net helps separate the bags from the film and reduces the risk of localized film damage.
Why use gravel bags instead of waste tires?
Gravel bags avoid exposed steel wire, reduce standing-water pockets, create more continuous pressure along seams, and are easier to move, stack, clean, and store. The actual sealing result still depends on correct cover placement and bag spacing.
Can silo gravel bags be reused and how should they be stored?
Yes. After the season, empty the bags if required, clean off silage residue, allow them to dry, inspect the handles and seams, and store them away from direct sunlight and sharp objects.
